I Own A Car
Just wanted to announce that yesterday I officially bought the car from my parents. I essentially paid off what they had left on their loan, so I got a very good deal on an excellent car. It’s a 2003 Silver Chevrolet Malibu.
I’m Back in the States
I got home yesterday afternoon and didn’t do much beyond trying to adjust my body. While I was uploading photos crawled into bed and thought I would take a quick nap then wake up for dinner. The nap turned into me sleeping for 11 hours. Which was pretty great, I guess I fell asleep with my lights and computer on. I feel well rested though I’m still a little off.
I’m still getting used to hearing only English and I have to stop my self from saying thank you in Hebrew (which is one of the few phases I use in Israel). The trip was amazing and I can’t wait to go back.
I have started to upload some photos to my flickr site and will try and write something in more detail about the trip soon.
Holocaust Deniers?
Not sure if anyone actually reads the links that I post to the right so Iwant to point out an article I saw on the New York Times website about how there was a convention in Iran of all the “great” minds in the world that denounce that the Holocaust ever happened.
In a speech opening the two-day conference, Rasoul Mousavi, head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Institute for Political and International Studies, which organized the event, said it was an opportunity for scholars to discuss the subject “away from Western taboos and the restriction imposed on them in Europe.”
I’m all for free speech so I applaud the Times for running the piece. Though the thought that anti-Semitism is so strong and that a piece of such recent history is in debate baffles me.
My Winter Break Plans
I have my last final this Thursday and will go home on Friday. I’ll collect a few things and pack my bags because Saturday around 10 in the morning I’ll be on a plane with my sister and her boyfriend to JFK. We’ll land around noon and then plan to head to our hotel, drop off our bags, and head into New York City.
This is a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to not only go to Israel but I have always wanted to see NYC. Who knows what we will do, though running around the city to see as much as we can sounds like the best plan to me.
Sunday we will wake up go back to JFK and meet our group sometime before 10:40. Our plane leaves for Israel about four hours after that.
The trip in Israel will be for ten days with a lot of the time spent in Jerusalem and on a Kibbutz east of the Sea of Galilee. Though we won’t only see those cities during the day. Not sure where all of that is, neither did I. I’ve been reading through my Travel book to figure out where things are.
Any suggestions of where to go in NYC, Leave a comment and let me know.

When was your last Snow Day?
My preparations for the trip are I have picked up a little Hebrew phrase book, an Israel travel book, and a new Moleskine. I think we might meet up with our old Hebrew High School teacher in Israel as well, if it works out all right.
I forgot to say but last Friday we had a Snow Day. Well it was more like the roads were to icy so the trucks to clear the roads could not get out on them day. But either way I stayed inside and had hot chocolate instead of taking an exam and attending class.
