NPR

For a while I’ve been listening to NPR shows on a regular basis. Now that I drive back and forth to the Parkview campus I turn on Michigan radio everyday. It keeps me in touch with the world outside of campus.

Recently I stumbled upon a podcast only show that is under development called Rough Cuts. You can probably find a page on the NPR website were you can stream some of the shows. But I have been subscribing to the podcasts through iTunes. Each show is on a different topic and each includes personal interviews with great story telling. I would encourage anyone to check the show out.

Protest at the Temple Mount

This picture, of the Temple Mount, is from my recent trip to Israel and this past Friday there were protests about the renovation work being done to the walkway that you can see leading up to the top of the walls. The renovation work is not close to the holy site and when I was there it was even closed because it was unsafe to be walked across.

I have very fond memories of this location in Jerusalem. We came here three different times during the trip and every time I experienced a deep connection. I hope the protests are resolved quickly.

Snow Day

We have another snow day!!! I guess the bitter cold has canceled classes. I’m not sure what I’ll even do with myself.

OSL

I have some big news about this coming summer. For the first time in my life I will not be spending my summer in Huntington Woods, at least for the first two months. This Monday was interviews to become an Orientation Student Leader and last night I accepted an offer to be one.

Not only do I get to spend two extra months in Kalamazoo, I get to take incoming students all around campus and help start them on the right foot. I am very excited for this!!!!
