Going Around the World

There have been a few times within the past few months that I have sent snail mail out.  Every time I get this awe inspiring feeling when I go to the post office to send it out.  The first was a letter to Paris, this took a week for it to get there but the logistics of how they do it are mind boggling.  The other two were express mail one to DC and the most recent I sent out today at 10:15 AM and is guaranteed to be in MD by noon tomorrow. It must be my comfort with technology that makes this so unique in my mind. I assume that an e-mail will get anywhere with the click of a button. But to put a letter on a truck then plane then a truck again seems much less stable but much more satisfying.

Being Home

I came to the realization yesterday that this past break was the longest time I have spent at home in a year and a half.

I was on NPR

A few posts back I mentioned that in 2007 I started listening to the NPR show “Tell Me More“, one of their producers came across this blog and interviewed me for a clip they ran on the show.

They did a nice job editing together my thoughts, thank goodness because I felt like I was blabbing about nothing when I was on the phone with them. I’d call this part of my 15 minutes of fame. Check it out here.
